Cory Cahill will be entering his eighth season as the Head Coach for the Women’s Volleyball program at McPherson College.
Coaching Highlights
Cahill previously served as Assistant Coach from 2015-2019 for the Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Programs at Lourdes University, winning six conference championships and being named the National Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018. In his time as the Head Coach Cahill’s teams have finished in the top five of the KCAC seven out of seven seasons with two runner up finishes in the KCAC and two KCAC regular season championships in 2024 and 2025. The Bulldogs enter the 2026-2027 season looking to three peat as KCAC champions.
Cahill took over a Bulldog program in 2019-2020 that historically had only won one conference championship in the history of the program and had a highest ever national rating of #18 in its history. In his first season as Head Coach the Bulldogs finished 17-12 and in fifth place in the KCAC, going on to upset the #4 seed in the KCAC tournament and ultimately being knocked out by the 1 seed in the semi final. Over his seven years as Head Coach Cahill has recruited 34 ALL KCAC performers including the 2020-2021 and 2025-26 KCAC Freshman of the Years, 2020-21 setter of the year, and the 2021-2022 Player of the Year. Also in his tenure at McPherson College he has coached 7 All Americans, 13 All region players, 1 Cosida Academic All American and was named the KCAC Coach of the Year and the NAIA Mid Central Coach of the Year in 2025.
Cahill also led the Bulldogs to a historic season in 2025 creating the longest winning streak in program history, earning a national ranking as high as 5th in the nation, and wrapping up the 2025 season in the national quarterfinal. As an Assistant Coach at Lourdes University Cahill was a part of six NAIA National Tournament teams including the 2017-2018 Lourdes University WHAC regular season and tournament Champion as well as National Tournament Semifinalist.
