Bulldogs split matches at Bacone Triangular

Muskogee, Okla. – The McPherson College volleyball ball team finished the day 1-1 at the Bacone Triangular Saturday afternoon in Muskogee, Okla.

The split improved the Bulldogs to 13-11 on the season, while remaining 5-6 in conference play.

The Bulldogs dropped its first match to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (Texas) 3-0, losing 26-24, 25-16, 27-25. MC then swept host Bacone College 25-14, 25-13, 25-16 to return to an even 1-1 on the day.

Against SWAGU, sophomore hitter Natalie Boss (Waterville, Kan.) recorded a team-best 13 kills and .524 hitting percentage. Junior setting Brelynn Schloo (Salina, Kan.) led the Bulldogs with 31 assists, while libero Brooke Wedel (Moundridge, Kan.) tallied 12 digs. She was the only Bulldog with double-digit digs.

In McPherson’s second match again Bacone, both Boss and junior hitter Kory Hiebert (Goessel, Kan.)recorded 10 kills. Hiebert led the team with a .563 hit percentage. Wedel finished the match with 17 digs and one of five McPherson service aces.

The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 19, when they host the University of Saint Mary. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. inside the McPherson Sport Center.
