McPherson, Kan. – McPherson College women’s tennis closed out its regular season with a loss to Kansas Wesleyan University, 9-0, at the Doris Coppock Tennis Courts. The loss drops MC to 1-9 overall and 1-6 in KCAC action.
Despite a valiant effort, especially in doubles play, the Bulldogs could not get a win versus the Coyotes. MC No. 2 doubles pairing of Madeline Jackle and Katie Doffing gave the Coyotes the best run, but fell, 8-4, to Kalin Eshelman and Macy McMakin.
In singles play, senior Mallory Griggs took four games in the first set against Jeni Wolters at the No. 6 position, but fell 6-0 in the second. Grigg’s match was the closest of the singles competitions.
The Bulldogs will finish the season at the KCAC Individual tournament held in McPherson on Friday April 30. The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the various courts in McPherson.
