McPherson, Kan. –
The McPherson College baseball team fell in both ends of a Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader Tuesday night against Bethany College. The twin bill was a reschedule from yesterday’s rain out games. The Bulldogs fell in game one 9-6 and dropped the nightcap 10-3.

With the results, McPherson goes to 1-33 overall and 1-23 in KCAC play, while the Swedes improve to 16-31 overall and 10-14 in conference action.

In game on, McPherson jumped out to an early 4-1 lead, but could not hold it as the Swedes cut the lead to 4-3 with a pair in the fourth. The Bulldogs responded with two of their own in the fifth, but a six-run top of the sixth by the Swedes proved too much to overcome.

Freshman second baseman Chace Evans (White Oak, Texas) paced the McPherson offense with three hits and three runs scored, while sophomore first baseman Steven Paramore (Mansfield, Texas) recorded two RBIs.

Bethany used that momentum in game two, as BC scored two runs in the first and one in the third to take a 3-1 lead. The Swedes sealed the victory with three in the top of the fifth before added four more in the seventh.

McPherson will be back in action this coming weekend when they wrap up the regular season against Friends University. Opening pitch for the four-game series is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
