MC is coming off a tough home loss to the Tabor Lady Jays this past Saturday.  It took McPherson over six minutes before they scored their first points of the game, putting them in a 14-point hole from the start.  TC would hold the lead for the rest of the half, taking a 34-21 lead into the locker room.  Seven different Bulldogs scored in the first period, none made two baskets.

In the second half, the two squads played a back-and-forth style of game with the lead for the Blue Jays staying around 10 points.  The Lady Bulldogs never trailed by more than 13 points but weren’t able to get their deficit any closer than six.  MC fouled down the stretch to stop the clock and try to inch closer but that didn’t matter as Tabor made eight of their ten final free throws, helping them win 66-56.

Cheyenne Eisenhour, Brittany Pittas and Ali Brewster each scored double figures in the loss for McPherson.  Eisenhour got the bulk of her points from the stripe, hitting 6-of-11 free throws and ended the night with 13.  Pittas went just 2-of-8 from downtown and was 2-of-6 from the rest of the floor, mix that with her 2-of-2 shooting from the charity stripe makes her 12 points.  Brewster scored 10 on 3-of-8 from the field and 3-of-6 from the free throw line.  Madison Chambers upped her rebounding average after grabbing 14 boards in the game, 10 in the first half; she scored eight points in the loss.

The Bulldogs sit 26th in the NAIA D-II in total three-point field goals made with 58; Pittas has drained 30 of her own which is sixth in the Nation, she averages three per game ranking eighth in D-II.  Pittas’ 17.4 points per game is the highest on the team and puts her 25th in the country and first in the KCAC.  Kaylee Cramer is averaging 5.8 rebounds per game to lead the team and has 58 for the year.  Brewster has 17 steals and 26 assists this season, putting her atop the squad in both categories.

McPherson will be on the road again on Saturday, the 8th of December for a showdown in Stewart Field House in Winfield, Kansas against the Southwestern College Moundbuilders.  The game is set to start at 5:00 p.m. (CT)
