– The Lady Bulldog softball team concluded their two-day USAO tournament on Saturday with a 1-4 loss to Lubbock Christian University.  That loss puts the ladies at 0-4 for the tournament and the season.

Allison Love was the pitcher for MC’s game on Saturday, and put out a six inning, 10 hit, four run game.  She faced 28 batters and recorded 10 fly outs and seven ground outs.

McPherson was only able to get three hits from their 23 at bats with the sole run coming in the fourth off of Amanda Baxter’s bat; Sadie Green and Ashley Love each had one hit as well.  Mac had some chances to add more runs in the fourth inning but was unable to convert leaving three runners on base.

Lubbock Christian put Sarah Mendez on the mound for their matchup with McPherson.  She recorded nine strikeouts, three hits and one earned run in her complete game.

LCU had three batters with two hits in the game, Andrea Argee, Kim Frazier and Stephanie Rendon; Frazier had three of the teams’ four RBIs, Mendez had the other one.  The team totaled 10 hits and picked up four runs on their 26 at bats. 
 
McPherson Softball will next play in the Friends University Tournament this coming weekend, March 2nd and 3rd.  Their first matchup is against Hastings College from Nebraska at 9:30 AM on Friday.
