Box Score

McPherson, Kan. – Nine punts, three interceptions, one fumble and a field goal were how the Bulldogs' drives ended on Saturday as the offense continued to struggle moving the ball.  The Falcons however were able to put the ball in the end zone five times, giving them the 34-3 victory over Mac.

The game started very good for McPherson as they intercepted Friends University on their opening drive but the inability to get any kind of offense going thwarted that and any other drives of the Bulldogs.

The lone possession that produced points for MC came late in the second quarter.  Jordan Hoffman (McCordsville, Ind.) found Tremon Robinson (Dallas, Texas) for a 52-yard connection then a 15-yard facemask penalty by Friends brought the ball to the 23 of the Falcons.  With halftime closing in, place kicker Mike Phillips (Spring Branch, Texas) knocked in his eighth field goal of the year, tying the McPherson College school record for most field goals in a season.  Following the FG, the Bulldogs headed into the locker room down 21-3.

In the second half, MC continued to have a difficulty getting the offense going as they had multiple three-and-outs along with an interception and lost fumble.

Friends put up a touchdown in both the third and fourth quarters, giving them the 34-3 victory.

The ground game was not working well for McPherson as they netted -13 total yards with -45 being credited to Hoffman on his five sacks.  Gerald Hardridge (Tulsa, Okla.) took the ball five times and gained 24 yards.  Hoffman completed 11-of-26 for 95 yards and three interceptions.  Robinson snagged two balls for 90 yards while Hardridge had a pair himself for 41.

Defensively, Dominique Henderson (Wichita, Kan.) had a heck of a game with 15 total stops including 12 solo tackles and 2.5 for a loss.  Safety Trea Lott (Sterling, Kan.) and Grant Narcisse (Crosby, Texas) each tallied seven tackles for McPherson.  Chris Ellison (Red Oak, Texas) and Cole Long (Medicine Lodge, Kan.) teamed up to take down Friends' quarterback for MC's lone sack; Long also had a fumble recovery on the day.  Trenton Forrester (Salina, Kan.)Phillip Wilson (Long Beach, Calif.) and David Anderson (Aurora, Colo.) each recorded an interception in the loss.

McPherson stays on the road for their next competition as they travel to Leavenworth, Kansas to face the 3-3 University of Saint Mary Spires.  Kickoff for the October 19th contest is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. under the lights at the stadium of Leavenworth High School.
