Wright vs KWU

Women's Tennis | 4/7/2013 8:44:00 PM

McPherson, Kan.  - The shorthanded Lady Bulldog’s could not overcome the point deficits they gave up to Kansas Wesleyan University and Baker University this past weekend.  MC played well and showed great improvement, however, were not able to garner any team wins.

A highlight for the Lady Bulldog’s was junior Kara Wright (Wichita, Kan.)   Wright played incredibly well and showed true Bulldog spirit as she was able to defeat her opponent Holly Eastwood from Kansas Wesleyan.  Wright took the first set 6-4, dropped the second set 2-6 but came back to win the match tie-breaker 15-13.  Teammate Kiara Mathis (Hays, Kan.) is also showing much grit and improvement taking her opponent the distance also; however, falling in the match tie-breaker 3-6, 6-2, 10-2.

The Lady Bulldog’s host KCAC leading Bethel College on Monday April 8.  First serve is set to begin at 5:30 p.m (CT) at McPherson High School.
