McPherson, Kan. – Miscues and missed chances led to the 4-1 defeat of McPherson College by No. 18 University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  The loss moves Mac to 2-3 for the year with three more non-conference matches left to play before KCAC play picks up.

"Against a National ranked side, you can't help them win the game," said Coach Quint.  "Today USAO punished us on our mistakes and we didn't take advantage of theirs."

The contest started off rough for MC as they allowed a goal in the initial five minutes.  With the half winding down, forward Johnny Nuthall (Reno, Nev.) headed in a pass from Nick Torres (McPherson, Kan.) to equalize things, giving the Bulldogs some momentum heading into the locker room.

The two sides were at a standstill for nearly half of the second period but then the Drovers took advantage of a couple poor choices by the 'Dogs to score two within as many minutes.  Another goal in the final 10 sealed things for Science and Arts.

McPherson was outshot 30-12 but put nearly half their chances on goal, five, compared to 10 of USAO.  Nuthall had four total shots, three on target but only found the back of the net the one time.

Keeper Taylor Parrott (Wichita, Kan.) allowed four goals while making six saves in the loss.

Baker University travels to McPherson on September 18th for a 4:30 p.m. (CT) contest with the Bulldogs; the contest will be held on the MC grass field.
