Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Mac Rolls St. Gregory’s 4-1

McPherson, Kan. – Bulldog soccer got their first win of the season on Wednesday night as they took down St. Gregory's University 4-1.  MC scored within the first three minutes and from there rolled the Cavaliers.  The 'Dogs are now 1-2 on the year.

"Our men were very good today in possession to create opportunities," said Coach Quint.  "Four different players scored today which attests to us finally playing together as one unit.  It was nice to put together a complete game.  Now we have a tough test on the road Saturday that our guys are looking forward too."

Jesus Pescador took advantage of a SGU miscue to claim the game's first goal in the game's third minute.  The next 40 minutes were played on McPherson's offensive end and, following a multitude of shots by the Bulldogs, Nick Torres was finally able to give Mac another goal as he slotted a Kevin Ndongo pass to move the score to 2-0.

Just a few minutes into the second period, Ndongo recorded his second assist of the match as Jose Angulo gave Mac a 3-0 lead.  St. Gregory's finally got on the board in the 65th minute but McPherson ended the match with a three-goal differential after Omar Perez scored on a Morgan Quintana assist with just a couple minutes to play.

The 'Dogs racked up 27 total shots and had 17 go on frame.  Ndongo and Torres both led the team with six shots; Ndongo put four on target.  Brayam De La Cruz had four shots that were saved by the Cavalier goal keeper.

Aaron Parrott started the match in goal and recorded the win; the junior didn't need to save a single ball in his 45 minutes of play.  Arthur Lamparter played the second half for MC, allowing one goal and logging one save.

McPherson will hope to use the momentum gained from Wednesday's match this weekend as they travel to No. 4 Grand View University for a rematch of their 2014 NAIA Opening Round contest; start time is set for 4:00 p.m. (CT) in Des Moines, Iowa.
