Oklahoma City, Okla. – After splitting with nationally ranked Southwestern Christian University earlier in the year, Mac lost a couple of pitching duels on Tuesday, 1-2, 1-0. The Bulldogs are now 14-17 on the year.
Game 1 – L 2-1
Despite Blake Ware's stellar six and one-third inning performance, MC couldn't not get past the Eagles in game one, losing 2-1.
There were just four hits by the two teams combined through the first four innings. SCU broke the scoring silence in the fifth as they put a run on the board following a Mac error.
The 'Dogs tied it up in the sixth on a Dylan Klava sacrifice fly that scored Reily Martin who reached base earlier on a walk.
Southwestern Christian scored the game's winning run with one out in the seventh.
MC recorded just three hits in the seven-inning game coming from Klava along with Trent Smith and Evan Willow. Martin made it aboard twice on walks.
Ware allowed just five hits, had a pair of strikeouts, and didn't walk a single batter in the 23 he faced.
Game 2 – L 1-0
After a scoreless stalemate, Southwestern Christian University finally got on the game's lone run on the board in the fourth. Mac had chances in both the fifth and seventh but were not able to score the equalizer, dropping the game 1-0.
The Bulldogs tallied four hits, coming from Klava, Lucas Giesey, Kyle McDonald, and Bryce Strecker; Dylan Fontenot also got on after getting hit by a pitch.
Cameron Oram was the game's losing pitcher; he lasted four and one-third innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed the one run.
It's back to KCAC play for Mac as they head to RV Oklahoma Wesleyan University in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on March 25th; the teams will play a doubleheader on both Friday, 4:00 p.m. (CT) start, and Saturday, 1:00 p.m. first pitch.
