McPherson, Kan. – After falling behind 3-0 after doubles, the McPherson College women's tennis team regrouped and won five of the six singles points to claim the 5-4 win over NAIA Receiving Votes Ottawa University.
All three doubles matches were tightly contested with just a slim margin between the two teams. After it was all said and done though, the Braves took a 3-0 lead into singles. Mac's No. 1 duo of Nikki Vorhees and Zoe Bouwmeester were the closest to victory, barely falling 9-8 (3).
In singles play, the Bulldogs shined. They took positions 2-6 to claim victory over the Braves; in those five spots, MC only dropped 21 games with just seven in the second sets. On paper, Lea Striegel had the least amount of resistance as she won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 2 position.
