McPherson, Kan. – With just one match to play in the KCAC regular season, the McPherson College women's tennis team is in prime position to claim their third-straight conference title after defeating Tabor College 7-2 on Wednesday.
The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles teams breezed to 8-0 victories. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were unable to sweep all the doubles points as the No. 1 combo of Zoe Bouwmeester and Lea Striegel fell 9-8.
In singles, McPherson won five of the six points to claim the victory. Nadine Baquiran recorded the match clinching point with her 6-0, 6-0 win at the No. 6 spot. Also having a relatively easy go at it was No. 4 Nikki Thornburg who dispatched her opponent 6-1, 6-0.

Bethany College is the lone team standing in the way of MC and their regular season title. The two inter-county rivals will square off on Saturday the 23rd at McPherson High School at 12:00 p.m. (CT); the time may change if there is a shift in the weather forecast.
