Winfield, Kan. – The McPherson College women's tennis team made it look easy on Wednesday as they swept the Receiving Votes Southwestern College Moundbuilders 9-0 on a windy day in Winfield. The Bulldogs are now 5-4 on the year and 2-0 in the KCAC.
All three doubles matches were tightly contested but the duo of Lea Striegel and Deiah Curtis were able to score the first point of the match, 8-5, at the No. 3 spot. Both the No. 1 and No. 2 set of Bulldogs took their matches at 8-6 and 8-5, respectively to put Mac ahead 3-0 heading into singles play.
Curtis was again the first to score with her 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 5; she bested one of the No. 1 doubles players for Southwestern. Nikki Thornburg clinched the match for MC with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the No. 4 position. Mac lost a set at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but both players were able to come out in front; Nikki Vorhees with a 6-3 win in her third set at No. 1 and Striegel with an 11-9 super tiebreak win at No. 2.

The Lady 'Dogs will head to Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas on Saturday for their next match which is set to begin at 3:00 p.m. (CT)
