Salina, Kan. –After taking all three doubles points, the McPherson College women's tennis team only needed to win two of the singles positions but went ahead and won four to claim the 7-2 victory over Kansas Wesleyan University on Saturday.
In doubles, both the No. 2 (Nikki Thornburg/Nadine Baquiran) and No. 3 (Nikki Vorhees/Deiah Curtis) teams took down their opponents 8-0. The freshman duo of Lea Striegel and Zoe Bouwmeester won 8-4.
No. 4 Thornburg and No. 6 Madison Hoffman were the first two singles players to win their matches, clinching the victory for the Bulldogs; Thornburg won without giving up a game while Hoffman won her first collegiate match 6-1, 6-4. Mac also won at the No. 3 and No. 5 positions.

McPherson will host Oklahoma Wesleyan University this coming Monday for their next match; start time is set for 3:00 p.m. at the McPherson High School courts.
