Bulldogs Open Season with a Win on the Road at Randall

Moore, Okla. - The women's basketball team opened up the 2018-19 season with a bang, beating Randall 84-60. It was a dominating game from the start for the Bulldogs, with them leading 22-7 after the first quarter.
 
McPherson won every quarter except for the fourth, when the game was already out of reach. The Bulldogs dominated in every aspect of the game. From the very beginning, they were determined to run Randall off the court.
 
Sonerka White (Sr. Houston, Texas) was the leading scorer for McPherson, tallying 12 points in only 14 minutes. This was mostly a big team win, as the bench outscored Randall's bench 39-25, giving the Bulldogs a huge advantage in that aspect.
 
White was the main catalyst for the team, as she also led in assists with four, while also stealing the ball four times. Danielle Holt (Jr. Glenpool, Okla.)was the leader in rebounds, grabbing eight of them. This was just a dominating game for the Bulldogs. They scored 30 points off of turnovers, and 44 points in the paint.
 
"I was pleased with our performance tonight." said first year head coach Josh Nichols. "This was a great team effort for our first game together."  Nichols added, "We have some things to iron out, but overall I thought we executed the game plan well on both ends of the floor. We were able to play a lot of people and start to build the depth we need once conference play starts."
 
McPherson will stay at home this weekend, hosting the McPherson Classic on Friday and Saturday. They will look to move to 2-0 on the season, when they host the Central Christian College Tigers on Friday night at 6:00 pm in the Sport Center.
