Baseball Home Opener Scuttled; Games Moved to Oklahoma

McPHERSON, Kan. (macbulldogs.com) --- Due to projected frigid temperatures in McPherson, the McPherson College baseball team's upcoming weekend schedule has been adjusted.

The three-day, three-team extravaganza featuring McPherson, Evangel University and Oklahoma Panhandle State University that was slated to open Bulldog Park has been canceled. Instead, the Bulldogs (6-2) will travel to Goodwell, Oklahoma, to face OPSU (4-3) in a four-game series Sunday and Monday. First pitch for doubleheaders both days is slated for 11 a.m.

An associated junior varsity doubleheader against Butler Community College slated for Monday, Feb. 12, has been moved to Tuesday, Feb. 13, and will be played at McDonald Stadium in El Dorado.

With this weekend's homestand scuttled, McPherson will now inaugurate Bulldog Park with a three-game series against rival Kansas Wesleyan University Feb. 17-18. The series, which will also kick off the Bulldogs' 2018 Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule, opens with a doubleheader beginning at noon Saturday, Feb. 17, followed by a single nine-inning game at 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18.
