Box Score McPHERSON, Kan. (macbulldogs.com) --- The McPherson College women's tennis team closed out its 2018 home slate with a 6-0 victory over Oklahoma Wesleyan University Tuesday afternoon at McPherson High School.
The Bulldogs (7-2, 7-1 KCAC) won both contested doubles matches by 8-0 scores. Brittany Zipf and Besa Bwalya topped Ashley Ogg and Macy Green, while Zoe Bouwmeester and Deiah Curtis downed Valeria Benevides and Erin Owen.
McPherson also took all four singles matches in straight sets. Zipf shut out Benevides in the first set at No. 1 singles and led 3-0 when Benevides retired. Bwalya defeated Ogg, 6-1, 6-1, at the No. 2 spot, while Bouwmeester shut out Green, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3. Curtis closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Owen at the No. 4 spot.
McPherson closes out the regular season Wednesday afternoon with a trip to the Ward Tennis Center in North Newton to face Bethel College (12-4, 5-3 KCAC). First serve is slated for 3 p.m. A win would give the Bulldogs a share of a fifth straight KCACÂ regular season crown.
