Mid-America Nazarene showed why the Pioneers are receiving votes in the NAIA national poll as they scored goals within the first 1 ½ minutes of each half to set the tone for their 8-0 win over the McPherson women on Saturday in Olathe, Kan.
The loss wrapped up the non-KCAC portion of the Bulldogs' 2018 season as McPherson was limited to just one first half shot-on goal by
Emma Singleton (FR, North Las Vegas, Nev.) and a single corner kick, also in the opening period.
Christie Silber (SO, Simi Valley, Calif.) and
Abby Jantz (JR, McPherson, Kan.) split time in goal for the Bulldogs where they faced a total of 27 shots. Each gave up four goals while Silber recorded four saves and Jantz five.
McPherson will carry a 0-5 season record in their KCAC opener next Wednesday when they host Tabor College in a 5:30 p.m. match on the turf of McPherson College. The Bulldogs will then host on Saturday Southwestern College in a 12:30 p.m. match in "The Kennel".
