Salina, Kan. – The roller coaster season continued on Saturday for the McPherson College volleyball team. The Bulldogs traveled to Salina, Kansas to take on Kansas Wesleyan University and Tabor College in a KCAC triangular hosted by KWU.

The Bulldogs got off to a strong start defeating the host school in four sets 25-22, 19-25, 25-10, 25-18. Aidan Brown (Fr. Sterling, Ill.) paced the Bulldog offense with 15 kills on 36 attempts with 5 errors, giving her a .278 hitting percentage. Morgan Watson (Fr. Loveland, Colo.) was second on the team in kills with nine and Sydney Burton (Sr. Stillwell, Kan.) had the third highest kill total at 6. The Bulldogs had 48 total kills, and Cynarah Rodriguez (Fr. Amarillo, Texas), assisted on 37 of them for an average of just under 10 assists per set.

On defense it was Reven Bradbury (Sr. Castle Rock, Colo.), who anchored the Bulldog back line and recorded 37 digs while at the net it was Mady Woog (Sr. Highlands Ranch, Colo.), who is finding her form, coming back from a season ending knee injury last season, and Burton each with three blocks.

After taking care of business against the Coyotes, the Bulldogs, just minutes later, came out completely flat against the Tabor College Blue Jays in the 4:00 match. The Bulldogs couldn't get anything going offensively or defensively, and they ended up getting swept by the Bluejays 25-23, 25-20, 27-25.

Offensively, Watson and Brown each finished with nine kills and Woog was right behind them with eight while on defense, Bradbury finished with 22 more digs to lead the team. Burton led the team in blocks with one solo and two assisted.

Bulldog head coach Cory Cahill, summed up the day saying, "We started the day well, but ended it in a tough way. It's all on us, we need to get better. We have a lot of room to grow."

Next up for the Bulldogs is a home triangular next Saturday with Bethel College and Southwestern College. The Bulldogs will play Bethel at 1:00 pm and then finish with Southwestern at 5:00 pm.
