Moore, Okla. – After an 11 day hiatus from the hardwood, due to COVID-19 precautions, the McPherson College women's basketball team was back in action on Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup against the Randall University Saints.
It took the Bulldogs nearly three quarters to get on track, trailing the Saints by eight (22-14) at the end of the first quarter, and were down by as many as 16 in the second quarter before trimming the lead to 11 (46-35) at the half.
They took their first lead of the game with 50 seconds remaining in the third period on a pair of free throws by Maya Austin. The Saints retook the lead early in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs responded and recaptured the lead at the 7:15 mark in the final quarter. From there, they hung on the rest of the way for a five point victory 85-80.

The Bulldogs turned the Saints over 28 times, and came up with 18 steals.

The Bulldogs shot 43% from the floor and 28% from behind the three point arc.
They struggled from the free throw line, making 19 of their 32 attempts (59%).

"It's been several weeks since we all have been on the floor together. Three kids played without any practice this week and our timing was off a bit on both ends of the floor. We still had some good performances by Brittany and KU [Kenajah Upchurch]. A bunch of others played well too Victoria, Maison [Moseley], Dy'mond, and Erika all had solid games. In the first half I really think Kalli [Olivar] gave us a spark. Overall it was good to have everyone back and now we have to get back to Bulldog basketball."

 With the win, the Bulldogs moved to 5-1 on the season. They will be back on the hardwood on Saturday, hosting the York College Panthers in a 1:00 KCAC match-up at the Sport Center.
