Bulldogs Sweep the Builders on the Road

Winfield, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team pushed their current winning streak to three matches with a straight sets victory on Wednesday evening over the Southwestern College Moundbuilders.

The Bulldogs came out firing on all cylinders in the opening set, cruising to a 25-14 win. The second set was a completely different story as the Builders kept things close the entire frame. In the end, the Bulldogs had to go past the 25 point threshold to defeat the Builders 26-24.

In the third set, the Bulldogs found their form again, and had their most efficient offensive output of the match. Collectively the team hit .308 with 18 kills in the set. The Builders stayed with the Bulldogs for two-thirds of the set, but in the final third, the Bulldogs pulled away, winning 12 of the final 19 points to complete the sweep with a 25-18 win.

Defense fueled the Bulldogs' win over Southwestern. The Bulldogs averaged 20 digs per set in the three set win over the Builders.
