McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College volleyball team moved to 5-0 in KCAC play, capping off a perfect week on Saturday with a straight sets win over York College.
The Bulldogs were dominant right out of the gate winning set one, 25-15. They served six service aces, and holding the Panthers to just 5 kills in the set. They kept things rolling in the second set, allowing the Panthers just four kills and winning 25-18.
In the third set, the Panthers led 3-2 when there was a 15 minute delay due to a technical issues at the scorers table. When play resumed, the Bulldogs were a little flat, and York went on a 5-2 run to lead 8-4. The Bulldogs regrouped and responded with a 7-0 run, including two service aces by Katelyn Moore, to retake the lead. From there, they never looked back and finished off the Panthers 25-18 to complete the sweep.

Serving was the key for the Bulldogs against the Panthers. The Bulldogs finished the match with 10 service aces. What doesn't show up in the box score is the number of times the Panthers were out of system in their offense because of tough serving by the Bulldogs.

With the win, the Bulldogs move to 9-5 overall and are now 5-0 in conference play. Â After three straight matches in the friendly confines of the Sport Center, the Bulldogs will head out next week for a couple of road matches. They will be at Avila University on Tuesday at 7:00 pm then end the week at Oklahoma Wesleyan University at 6:00 pm on Saturday.
