Bulldogs Lose to Jamestown in NAIA Opening Round

Jamestown, N.D. – The McPherson College volleyball team concluded their season on Saturday afternoon, falling in the NAIA National Opening Round against top seeded and undefeated University of Jamestown Jimmies.

The Jimmies showed why they have been the NAIA's top team for most of the season, and why they are the favorites to win the championship this year. They defeated the Bulldogs in straight sets, winning 25-19, 25-16, 25-17. In the opening set, the Bulldogs went toe to toe with the Jimmies and stayed close until late in the set. The Bulldogs trailed Jamestown 19-18, but the Jimmies won six of the last seven points to take the set.

After that run to complete set one, the Jimmies found their groove. For the rest of the match, the Bulldogs continued to fight, but the Jimmies had too much firepower.
