Tough Night for the Bulldogs in 2021 Home Opener

McPherson, Kan. – The Bulldogs dropped a pair of conference matches, at home on Friday night. Falling first to the Tabor College Bluejays in the opener, and then dropping the night cap to the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes.

The Bulldogs lost both matches 3-1, after winning the first set. They opened up with a 1-0 lead on Tabor, winning the opening set 25-17. They led 24-20 in set two, but allowed Tabor to come back and win the second set 29-27. From there things went downhill in a hurry. They lost set three 25-22, and then set four 25-21.

Against the Coyotes, they dominated set 1, 25-15, but then let KWU go on an 8-0 run to start the second set. They tried to fight back in the set, but ultimately lost 25-20. Sets three and four would have identical scores as set number two.

With the losses, the Bulldogs drop to 11-6 overall, and 8-4 in KCAC play. It doesn't get any easier for the Bulldogs as they will go on the road next Thursday, to Parkville, Missouri to take on the Park University Pirates, who were ranked #1 in the nation in the NAIA's latest top 25 coaches' poll. First serve is slated for 7:00 pm.
