McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College baseball team remained perfect on the season, taking the final two games of a four game series with Doane University on Sunday, 5-1, and 13-12.
Blake Maddock go the start in Sunday's opening game and went the distance. He allowed just one run on six hits with 11 strike outs and zero walks. Offensively the Dogs scored five runs on eight hits. Four of those hits came from DJ Lewis, and Malik Bond.
The Second game was a wild one. The Bulldogs prevailed in extra innings, winning 13-12 on a walk-off base on balls. The Bulldogs trailed the Tigers 9-5 heading into the bottom of the seventh. They scored four runs to force extra innings, but then gave up three more in the top half of the eighth. They rallied again, scoring four more runs to capture the win.
Gregory Neiger was on the bump when the Bulldogs retook the lead and was credited with the win. The offense in game two belted out 13 hits, led by a perfect performance from Trevor Johnson. The senior catcher / DH had himself an afternoon, going 5 for 5, with 5 runs scored and 3 RBI. However the highlight of his perfect day at the plate, included hitting for the cycle. He had two singles, a double, a triple and a home run.

The Bulldogs will open up KCAC play on Tuesday, when they go on the road to take on the Tabor College Bluejays, who were picked to win the KCAC this season, by the conference coaches.
