McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College women's basketball, continues to play their best basketball at the right time. The Bulldogs picked up another huge win on Saturday night, winning at home 71-62 over the Bethel College Threshers.

The Threshers came into the night, second in the KCAC standings, while the Bulldogs were sitting in fourth. With the win, the Bulldogs remain in fourth while the Threshers drop to third. The Threshers and Bulldogs are tied in the win column at 12, but the Threshers are up two games in the loss column. If their records end up the same after the regular season, the Bulldogs will hold the tie breaker heading into the post season.

The Bulldogs were locked in on both ends of the floor from the first whistle. They won three of the four quarters, and tied the Threshers in the other. They lead 28-27 at the halftime intermission, and then took a two point lead into the final period, 51-49.

The Bulldogs got some big defensive stops down the stretch, and were able to pull away at the end, out-scoring the Threshers 20-13 in the fourth quarter.

Key Statistic

Rebounding was the key for the Bulldogs. They crashed the glass, and out-rebounded the Threshers 48-42. They also grabbed 21 offensive boards which they turned into 13 second chance points.

By the Numbers

The Bulldogs shot 36% from the floor, and 21% from beyond the arc.

From the charity stripe, they were 16 of 24 for 67% on the night.

Defensively, they forced the Threshers into 24 turnovers, then scored 21 points off of those miscues.

Coach Quote

"Unbelievable performance tonight! Those kids showed some toughness this week! Brittany playing on another level completely, what can I say. Maison came up big again on both ends. KB was back in double figures tonight with some big buckets. While Tatum only had 7 points this may have been her best game as a Bulldog, very solid all-around performance. Ates, Diaz, and Wells may not have had their best nights shooting made up for it in every other aspect of the game. Potter hit a big 3 and gave us some good minutes as well. We finally get a little rest and we need it for the home stretch."

Next Up

After four games in seven days, the Bulldogs will get three days off before hitting the hardwood again on Wednesday. They will try and do the impossible, and go into Sterling and knock off the unbeaten Warriors, who sit at 22-0 on the season, on their home floor. Tip-off in Sterling is set for 6:00 pm.
