Winfield, Kan. – After opening the KCAC portion of the schedule with a split against Tabor on Tuesday, the McPherson College softball team wrapped up the week with a sweep of the Southwestern College Moundbuilders on Saturday.
The Bulldogs opened the day with a 10-7 victory in game one, with Brittany Baroni going the distance in the circle, and picking up the win. She allowed seven runs on 12 hits with three strikeout and four walks.

Offensively, the Bulldogs scored 10 runs on 11 hits. Four Bulldogs recorded multiple hits led by Brandy Trengove who was 2 for 3 with a double. The big hits came off the bats of Maile Deutsch and Makenzie Egan. Deutsch hit a solo home run, and Egan hit an inside the park grand slam.

In game two, Reagan Kleppe picked up her second win of the week going wire to wire and allowing just one run on nine hits. She fanned three and walked none in the win.

At the dish, the Bulldogs plated eight runs on 12 hits led by a 4 for 4 performance by Destiny Bacon. Bacon had four singles, and scored three runs. Deutsch had another multi-hit game, going 2 for 4 with a single, a double, and 4 RBI.

"It's always a good thing when you can get two road wins in conference play," said Bulldog head coach Tony Segovia. "We had players come off the bench and contribute in a big way. Overall it was a team victory and proud of our team. We will continue to work and get better every day."

With the wins, the Bulldogs move to 10-8 on the season, and 3-1 in conference play. They have a big week coming up as they will play Friends University on Wednesday and Ottawa University on Saturday, two of the KCAC's top teams. Both doubleheaders are slated to start at 1:00 pm and both will be played at Bulldog Park.
