Hutchinson, Kan. - The McPherson College volleyball team opened up the 2021 season playing in the annual KCAC Fall Fling at the Hutchinson Sports Arena. The Bulldogs opened the Fall Fling taking on the Eagles of John Brown University from the Sooner Athletic Conference.
It took the Bulldogs four sets, but they managed a 3-1 win to open their 2021 campaign. They got off to a strong start taking set 1, 25-16. The Eagles stormed back to take set 2, 25-13. In the third set the Bulldogs trailed the Eagles 22-18, but closed the set on a 7-0 run to win the set 25-22. Leading two sets to one, the Bulldogs wrapped up the match winning the fourth set 27-25.

The difference in the match was the Bulldog defense at the net. Collectively, the Bulldogs tallied 10 blocks, to just 4 by the Eagles.

The Bulldogs finished with a .153 attack percentage with 40 kills on 144 swings with 18 errors.
They assisted on 32 of their 40 kills.
