McPherson, Kan. – The McPherson College softball team improved to 13-12 overall, and 4-0 in KCAC play, sweeping the Southwestern College Moundbuilders on Saturday out at Bulldog Park.

The Bulldog offense got off to a hot start, and they stayed hot all day. In the opener, they scored in every inning and won in a rout 14-0 in five innings. Brandy Trengrove and Ellis Woodruff were the offensive stars, each picking up three hits in the win. Trengove was 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI. Woodruff was a perfect 3 for 3 with two RBI.

Raegan Kleppe won her second game this week in the circle. Against the Moundbuilders she went the distance, pitching a shutout and only giving up one hit. She also had five strikeouts and just one walk.

The Bulldogs kept rolling into the second game. They spotted the Moundbuilders a 1-0 lead, but then reeled off six unanswered run to lead 6-1 through four innings. They had a hiccup in the fifth inning, allowing the Builders to score three runs, but they answered a half inning later with three runs of their own. In the bottom of the sixth inning, they led by five. With runners on first and second, Trengove launched a ball over the left center field fence, giving the Bulldogs the walk-off win 12-4.

Trengove finished the game 3 for 5 with 4 RBI. Joining her with multiple hits were Molly Booker, 3 for 4, Summer Garcia, 2 for 4, and Mackenzie Egan, 2 for 3.

Jordyn Johnson also picked up her second win of the week, getting in six innings of work, and giving up four runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and four walks.

Coach Segovia was pleased with the ladies' effort, saying, "Very proud of everyone today. Team effort from all. We will keep working hard and get ready for next week!"

The Bulldog win streak is now at six games. They are scheduled to be back in action next Saturday, going on the road to take on the Ottawa University Braves in a double header.
