WICHITA, Kan. — Five players scored double figures Wednesday night (Jan. 11) as the McPherson College Bulldogs topped the Friends University Falcons 88-68 in Wichita, Kan.

The Falcons led by as many as ten in the first half, but a jumper by Christian Aguillard sparked a 12-2 burst for the Bulldogs to tie the ball game at the break.

"I was proud of our effort tonight," head coach T.J. Eskildsen said. "After a slow start we were able to get a little rhythm late in the first half that carried over into the second half."

They kept the run going into the second frame, scoring the first six points, including a triple by Antonio Watson

The Bulldogs never looked back, ballooning the lead to 56-44 following another basket by Aguillard with 12:50 remaining. From there, the Bulldogs kept the opponent at bay with threes by Yaniel Vidal and Watson.

"I thought we got big contributions off our bench. Charles Snyder was huge inside. Any conference road win is a big one. Now we need to turn our focus to a really good Kansas Wesleyan team."

Snyder led all scorers with 19 points, including 15 in the second half, while pulling down seven rebounds. Vidal, Watson, and Jerome Mabry each added 14 points, and Owen Braxmeyer scored 13.

Steve Staco and Al Emerllahu led the way for the Falcons with 13 points a piece, and Tim Barbieri added 11 points.

With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 10-7 on the season with a 3-5 mark in the KCAC. McPherson returns to the Sports Center Saturday (Jan. 14) for a conference showdown against Kansas Wesleyan.
