McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs held a 1-0 lead early in the second half Saturday (Oct. 14), but an unlucky goal by the Evangel University Valor knotted the score at 1-1 and forced a tie at McPherson Stadium.
With 29 minutes left in the game, Caden Hardgrave passed the ball back to goalkeeper Camden Wiseman. However, Sage Ballard blocked the clearance attempt by Wiseman, redirecting it into the back of the net and leveling the score.
Demetrio Araiza gave the Bulldogs the 1-0 lead at the break, burying a cross from Nathan Van Wyck in the 31st minute.
Anthony Pereira paced the Bulldogs with two shots on goal, while Oliver Danzer, Benedict Mbogga, and Araiza each added one. Wiseman made three saves for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 18) to take on York University at McPherson Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
