McPHERSON, Kan. — For the 16th consecutive time, the McPherson College Bulldogs knocked off crosstown rival Central Christian College 78-58 Tuesday evening (Nov. 7) inside the Sport Center.

Chloe Clevenger scored a team-high 20 points and had five steals, while Madelyn Hankins led the way with six assists, added 11 points and pulled down nine rebounds.

The Bulldogs forced Central Christian into 36 turnovers, resulting in 21 steals for MC. Gillian Rodgers and Matisyn Moses each added four takeaways.

The Tigers held an early 4-2 advantage, but from then it was all Bulldogs using a 15-2 burst to help close out the first quarter with a 21-12 lead.

Central Christian closed the gap to a five-point lead midway through the second quarter, but the Bulldogs had an answer to push their advantage back to double digits at the break.

The Tigers made one last push late in the third quarter, trimming the lead to six, but that would prove to be the closest they would come as the Bulldogs outscored Central Christian 20-9 in the fourth quarter.

Mikaela Boyd finished with 10 points off the bench for the Bulldogs (3-1), while Raeghan Borman and Joze' Baker each scored eight points.

Briasia Garza led the way for the Tigers with a game-high 26 points on 11-for-21 shooting, and had four assists.

The Bulldogs are back in action next Wednesday (Nov. 15) for their KCAC opener at home against Bethel College. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
