LINDSBORG, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs dropped a KCAC matchup 100-72 Wednesday night to Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan.
The Swedes came out hot, grabbing a 28-11 advantage less than nine minutes into the contest. From there, Bethany kept its foot on the gas pedal before a Justin Brookens three at the buzzer made it a 49-31 lead at the break.
Jamil Hardaway drilled a three early in the second frame, then Charles Snyder took the feed from Yaniel Vidal and scored the layup to bring the Bulldogs within 15, but the Swedes took control to cruise to the win.
Antonio Watson finished with team-highs of 17 points and ten rebounds to lead the Bulldogs (13-14, 8-13 KCAC) and secure his first career double-double.
Vidal and Haven Ousley added 11 points apiece, while Luis Rodriguez scored ten points.
Bethany shot 55.8 percent (43-for-77) from the field and 13-for-33 from beyond the arc, compared to 31.6 percent for the Bulldogs, including 13-for-35 from distance.
The Bulldogs close out the regular season on Saturday (Feb. 18) on the road against Bethel College in North Newton, Kan. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
