McPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs women's tennis team saw their three-match winning streak snapped Thursday (Apr. 20), falling in a hard-fought battle 4-3 to the Ottawa University Braves at the Bulldog Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs got off to a solid start winning the doubles point behind wins by Maxey/Maples (6-2) and Ortiz/Sanchez (7-6).
Ottawa leveled the score when Priyanshi Sharma knocked off Vanessa Hofer 6-1, 6-2, but Camila Sanchez put the Bulldogs back on top with a 6-2, 6-4 win in #1 singles. Again, the Braves had an answer with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Kayla Ortiz, then Grace Maxey gave the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead with two to play, winning in a three-set thriller after dropping the first set.
From there, it was all Braves as Kendra Maples lost in three sets, then Lily Keimig took down Maddie Dobson.
