Box Score NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — The McPherson College women's tennis team fell for the first time in conference play Thursday (Apr. 6) 4-3 to the Bethel College Threshers in North Newton, Kan.
The Bulldogs got an early lead on the doubles point as Maxey/Maples took down Herrera/Nemi 6-1. But the Threshers won the next two to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
Grace Maxey tied the match with a quick 6-0, 6-1 win, then Vanessa Hofer won a three-set thriller to help the Bulldogs grab a 2-1 advantage.
Daniela Herrera knocked off defending KCAC player of the week Camila Sanchez (6-4, 2-6, 6-3) to once again tie the match, then the Threshers took a 3-2 lead heading into the final two matches. Patty Huerta beat Maddie Dobson 6-1, 6-1 to give the Thresher the win.
