STERLING, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs got back in the win column Wednesday (Sep. 27) with a 1-0 win against Sterling College in Sterling, Kan. The win snaps a seven-game losing streak.
Lauren Machado put the Bulldogs on top early in the first half with a shot in the 14th minute that beat goalkeeper Shaylee Gibbs. Allyson Harrison assisted on the goal.
The score would hold through the remainder of the game, thanks to four second-half saves by Lauren Kunda. Kunda finished with six saves to pick up her first clean sheet of the season.
Courtney Wickham paced the Bulldogs with four shots, all of which were on target. Harrison added two shots-on-goal, while Olivia Rodriguez and Emily Segura each finished with one.
The Bulldogs are back in action on Saturday (Sep. 30), when they return to McPherson Stadium to take on Friends University. Kickoff is slated for noon.
