MCPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson College cross country teams had an outstanding showing in their lone home meet at the Carol Swenson Invite Saturday morning (Oct. 12).
The men's Bulldogs were led by junior Brock Lauer's third-place finish, and was the top NAIA finisher. He crossed the line in the 8k event in 26:46.3. Lauer turned in an average pace of 5:21.1.
Junior Cody Kuss notched a 21st-place effort. He crossed the finish line in 27:57.7. Kuss averaged 5:37.5 for his pace.
Teammate Isaac Hale accounted for 32nd place. His 5:49.4 pace allowed him to cross the finish line in 28:57.1.
Senior Parker Roberts turned in a performance of 30:20.6, which was good enough for 43rd place. Roberts' pace was 6:06.2.
The Bulldogs did not have enough student-athletes competing to record a team score.
On the women's side, the Bulldogs were led by Amari Robb's 19th-place effort. She registered a time of 22:13.2 after posting a 7:09.1 pace.
Kamryn Nolan turned in a 43rd-place effort. She crossed the finish line in 27:08.0, which stood at an 8:43.9 pace for the 5k event.
The Bulldogs did not have enough student-athletes competing to record a team score.
Tabor won the meet while Northwestern Oklahoma and Friends rounded out the top three teams at the meet.
Both squads will return to action Saturday, Oct. 26, when they compete at the Flaming Tiger Invite starting at 10 a.m.
