STERLING, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs remained unbeaten in KCAC play Thursday (Apr. 11), knocking off the Sterling College Warriors 6-1 in Sterling, Kan.
The Bulldogs won the doubles point thanks to a 6-0 sweep by Nashiku/Sanchez on court one followed by a 6-2 win by Barut/Garcia.
Vanessa Hofer made it a 2-0 Bulldog advantage with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Rachel Carlson, then Taimi Nashiku pushed the lead to 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Nadia Margaritov.
Camila Sanchez clinched the win, winning a tiebreaker in set two to come away with the 6-3, 7-6 (3) win over Sofia Tominaga.
The Warriors got on the board with a win on court two when Ana Alvarez took down Zeynep Barut, but the Bulldogs responded with a 6-4, 6-0 win by Alexa Garcia, then a three-set victory by Kayla Ortiz.
MC travels to Winfield, Kan. on Saturday (Apr. 13) to take on Southwestern College.
