McPHERSON, Kan. — The Friends University Falcons won by scores of 8-0 and 9-0 to sweep the McPherson College Bulldogs Saturday (Apr. 20) on Senior Day at Bulldog Park.
GAME ONE – Friends 8, McPherson 0
The Bulldogs were held to just two hits in the opener with Rowdy New and Kaitlyn Sarsfield each finishing with one.
Friends took a 2-0 lead in the third inning after a pair of singles by Priscilla Mora and Becca Dunn, then added one more in the fourth. The Falcons finished it off with a five-run fifth inning.
Jordyn Johnson threw 4.2 innings, but allowed six runs on 12 hits.
GAME TWO – Friends 9, McPherson 0
Things weren't much easier for the Bulldogs in game two, matching their hit total from the opener. Shelley Jobe and Alivia Lange each had one hit for the Bulldogs.
The Falcons scored three runs in each of the first two innings, but were held out of the scoring column until the top of the sixth, adding three more to pick up the win.
Ashanti Thompson came on in relief and struck out two batters in four innings of work.
The Bulldogs will wrap up their season Tuesday (Apr. 23) when they travel to Bartlesville, Okla. to take on Oklahoma Wesleyan.
