McPHERSON, Kan. — The (RV) McPherson College Bulldogs women's tennis squad picked up the sweep over the Evangel University Valor on Saturday (Apr. 6) at Bulldog Tennis Center.
A pair of 6-0 sweeps by Ortiz/Hofer and Maxey/Garcia helped the Bulldogs secure the doubles point. Sanchez/Nashiku added to the doubles sweep with a 6-4 win on court one.
Taimi Nashiku made it a 2-0 Bulldog lead with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Alexia Phipps on court three, then Grace Maxey pushed it to a 3-0 advantage, knocking off Abigail Chaney 6-4, 7-6 (3).
Zeynep Barut clinched the win for the Bulldogs with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 win over Rachel Chaney in the #1 singles position.
But the Bulldogs weren't done yet, as Vanessa Hofer finished off Lidia Bjelica 7-5, 6-1, and then Alexandria Garcia took care of business, dropping just one game to McKenzie Calhoun. Maddie Dobson completed the sweep with a 6-0, 6-0 drubbing over Courtney Yates.
The Bulldogs hit the road Tuesday (Apr. 9), traveling to take on NCAA Division II Emporia State.
