WICHITA, Kan. — The McPherson College Bulldogs competed at the KCAC Cheer and Dance Championships, hosted by Friends University at the Garvey Center in Wichita, Kan.
The Bulldogs cheer team finished sixth out of eight teams, beating out Sterling College by five points and York University by nearly 10 points.
In the cheer competition, teams competed twice with the preliminary round score counting for 25 percent, and the final round making up 75 percent. The Bulldogs finished with a preliminary score of 58.01 and 57.92 in the finals for an overall score of 57.94.
The University of Saint Mary took home the KCAC Championship in the cheer competition with a final score of 93.06, while reigning KCAC Champion Friends University came in second with a score of 80.45.
On the dance side, the Bulldogs finished in fifth place with a final score of 41.27, narrowly edging Friends University and Bethel College. Kansas Wesleyan (79.60) finished in first place, while York University placed second, finishing eight points behind the Coyotes.
