NORTH NEWTON, Kan. — It was a tough trip down to North Newton for the Bulldogs on Saturday (Jan. 25) as they fell to the Bethel College Threshers, 69-52 and fall to 0-20 on the season and 0-14 in KCAC play.
It was a strong first quarter for both sides as the Bulldogs shot 37% from the field while the Threshers hit 42% of their shots with the only difference being a lone three point field goal made by Bethel. Come the second quarter, the offense completely vanished for MC as they went 2-18 from the field and scored just five points to Bethel's 7-15 shooting and 18 points in the quarter. The struggle filled second quarter put MC in a 34-19 deficit at halftime.
The Bulldogs were able to come out strong in the the third quarter, but Bethel came out red hot by making a trio of three pointers to push their lead out even more. MC continued to try and close out strong in the fourth, but the Thresher lead was too much to overcome.
Amarion Tease, who made her first career start in the contest, led MC in scoring with 10 points.
Gillian Rodgers and
Raeghan Borman also chipped in with seven points.
The Bulldogs return to the friendly confines of the Holman Fieldhouse as they take on the Tabor College BlueJays on Wednesday, January 29. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
