How it Happened
The Bulldogs were rolling at home on Saturday afternoon, earning the 4-0 shutout victory over the Builders. It would be Zane Sullivan in the 8th minute starting off the scoring for McPherson off the assist of Nathan Van Wyck for the early 1-0 lead, following quickly behind by Sergio Najera's goal in the 10th minute assisted by Matt Mossman for the quick 2-0 lead. Mauro Soria put up four saves in the first half facing eight total shots from Southwestern, maintaining his poise as a young freshman between the posts looking for his first shutout this season.

In the second half, McPherson outshot Southwestern 9-5 and was able to find two more scores. After Van Wyck's penalty kick goal in the 76th minute, Michael Ceyrolles scored in the 81st minute off the assist of Van Wyck to spread the margin to 4-0 with very little time left in the match for Southwestern to come from behind. Soria held on for his first shutout victory of the year having to put up just one save in the second half, as the Bulldogs got back into the win column following the final blasts of the official's whistle.
