Box Score Winfield, Kan. – The Bulldogs traveled to Winfield, Kansas on Saturday for a matchup with the Southwestern College Moundbuilders. Southwestern aimed to get back in the win column after two losses to Tabor and Evangel, while McPherson looked to remain perfect in KCAC play.

How it Happened
McPherson jumped out to a fast start, scoring the first seven points of the opening set to grab an early lead. Southwestern battled back, cutting the deficit to 12-11. The Bulldogs quickly regained control, rattling off eight straight points to extend their lead to 20-11. McPherson closed out the set with kills from
Brooke McHale and
Enya Fierens to seal a 25-15 win and take a 1-0 lead in the match.
The Bulldogs once again got out to an early lead to open set two. Maintaining steady pressure on Southwestern, McPherson stretched their advantage to eight points before the Moundbuilders trimmed the deficit to within five. From there, the Bulldogs continued to roll, closing out the set on a Southwestern attack error to secure another 25-15 win and take a 2-0 lead in the match.
Set three saw the Bulldogs build another early lead, jumping ahead 10-5. Southwestern answered with a 3-0 run to close the gap to two, but McPherson responded with their own 3-0 run to push their advantage back to five. The teams trade points down the stretch before the Bulldogs pulled ahead 21-15, forcing a Southwestern timeout.
Katie Warden sealed the win with a kill, giving the Bulldogs a 25-20 victory and completing the three-set sweep.
McHale led the Bulldogs with 14 kills, while
Kaylee Stegora posted an impressive .800 hitting percentage to pace the team in efficiency.
Roxana Varela Parra led the way at the service line with four aces and also tallied 35 assists in the win.
