Wichita, Kan – On Saturday, the Bulldogs kicked off their 2025-2026 campaign with the first of 5 Tier 1 events for the season at the Mid-States Championships hosted by Wichita State and Newman. Despite the Bulldogs scrimmaging Barton County Community College a week prior, this was our first true look at McPherson College Bowling.
The Basics
Location: Bowlero Northridge
Team Placement: 5th Place out of 24 Teams
Day One
Day one consisted of 6 traditional team games. Varsity had games of 910, 820, and 938 in the first three games. Varsity set a new team game school record in game 4 with a total of 1059 (
Hailey Lennox: 236,
Jasmine Bridges: 160, Joysbeliz Reyes: 236,
Miranda Hunt: 212,
Veronyca West: 215) which was also the highest team game in the tournament. Varsity finished with games of 882 and 839 in games 5 and 6 for a day one total of 5448 good for 5
th place. Varsity was led by freshman
Joysbeliz Reyes-Solano who finished 19
th individually with a 191.3 average for six games.
JV1 had a 6-game total of 4970, good for 4
th place in the JV division. Freshman,
Kacee Rhody, led the JV1 finishing in 45
th place with a 173 average for 6 games.
JV2 had a 6-game total of 4774, good for 5th place in the JV division. Sophomore,
Monica Pollock, led the JV2 finishing in 44
th place with a 173.2 average for 6 games.
Day Two
Day two consisted of 16 baker games. Baker games are where 5 players combine for one game score (bowler 1 bowls 1st/6th frames, bowler 2: 2nd/7th, bowler 3: 3rd/8th, etc). Varsity had a 16-game total of 2724, bringing their two-day total to 8172, which kept them in 5th place qualifying for the single elimination match play bracket. Varsity would face #4 seed Lindenwood in the first round of matchplay, which was a best 3 out of 5 baker games. McPherson would fall to Lindenwood in round 3 games to 0.
JV1 had a 16-game baker total of 2833, which led all JV teams and was 5
th highest in the entire field. JV1 would finish with a two-day total of 7803, good for 3
rd place in the JV division.
JV2 posted a 16-game baker total of 2573, bringing their two-day total to 7347, finishing in 5
th place in the JV division.

McPherson will compete in the Five Seasons Classic from November 1
st to November 2
nd in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at the Cedar Rapids Bowling Center. Day One will begin at 11:00 AM while Day Two starts at 8:30 AM.
