How it Happened
Despite conceding the opening goal in the 20th minute, the Bulldogs hosted majority of the offensive momentum, firing off ten shots on the Eagles compared to Avila's four. Avila's opening goal was scored by River Howard, but would be matched by the Bulldogs in the 40th minute. Nathan Van Wyck, leading the charge in goals this season, scored his 12th of the year to level the match at 1-1 just before the teams headed into the halftime break.

Right off the second half start, Elliot Powrie found the go-ahead goal in the 47th minute of play, taking the 2-1 lead to set the tone for the remainder of the match. McPherson's defense played lights out in the second half, allowing just three shots that were not threatening towards goal. The Bulldogs bought insurance quickly after Powrie's goal in the 54th minute of play as Van Wyck found his second of the match to extend McPherson's lead to 3-1. With their stellar defensive play, the Bulldogs cruised to the 3-1 victory on the road.
