Hesston College managed to find the lead with 16:25 remaining in the half after Rob Gambill's three pointer for the 8-7 lead. Larks held onto the lead for 13 minutes as both teams struggled to find a great deal of offense for majority of the half. McPherson ended the half with a 10-3 run led by Labron Wilson to take a 39-30 lead into the halftime break.

The Bulldogs' conversion rate took a turn for the better in the second half as they improved from 40% to 48% from the floor in the second half, knocking home five three pointers and hitting 11 of 14 free throws. Hesston shot slightly better in the second half, but were unable to match the efficiency of the Bulldogs as McPherson stretched their lead to as large as 26 midway through the half.

A notable statistic from the second half was McPherson outrebounding the Larks 24-14 with eight of the boards being brought down on offense.

The Bulldogs routed their way to an 89-65 victory over Hesston on the road, led by Korbin Gunn who finished the night with 17 points, six rebounds and four assists.
