BARTLESVILLE, Okla. — McPherson College wrapped up its regular season with an 87-73 setback to (RV) Oklahoma Wesleyan Saturday afternoon in Bartlesville, Okla.
Jamil Hardaway and Dallas Metzger paced the Bulldogs with 11 points apiece, while Curtis Rose and Collin Storr each added nine points. Preston Holmes scored a career-high ten points.
MC shot 41.2 percent from the field, but just 32.4 percent from deep. The Bulldogs were also 6-for-13 from the charity stripe. They were also forced into 14 turnovers.
The Eagles got off to an excellent start, racing out to a 13-5 lead over the first five minutes. MC clawed its way back capped off by a jumper by Metzger, but again the Eagles quickly ballooned their lead to double-digits before taking a 49-27 lead into the break.
OKWU expanded their lead to as many as 31 in the second half, cruising to the victory.
Isaac Stanek led the Eagles with 15 points, while Derrick Talton added 14 points and Jaden Lietzke scored 12 points and added five assists.
The Bulldogs will head to the KCAC Tournament as the No. seven seed, thanks to a Friends win over Bethany College. MC will travel to Wichita to take on Friends on Wednesday (Feb. 26).
