MCPHERSON, Kan.- The McPherson College men's tennis team picked up its fourth consecutive victory on Thursday, besting the University of Saint Mary by a 6-1 score.
The Bulldogs are now 6-2 overall, including 1-0 in KCAC action.
Head coach
Craig Holman's team jumped out to the 1-0 lead after sweeping doubles action. Top-seeded
Celien Botlan and
Oscar Brouwer posted a 6-3 victory.
Simon Delgadillo and
Texas Ranger Schmidt combined for an emphatic 6-2 win at the number three slot.
Arthur Nardy and
Jayson Wasserfuhr needed a bit of extra time to record the win. The duo notched a 7-6 (7-2) win at the number two position.
Nardy cruised to a win at the number one singles spot, claiming a 6-2, 6-2 victory over his foe. After dropping the first set, Botlan bounced back to nab a 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 win at the number three position.
Balazs Temesvari accounted for a 6-2, 6-2 victory at the number six slot. Holman's team continued to impress as Wasserfuhr snagged a 6-4, 6-2 victory at number four singles. Delgadillo concluded the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the number five spot.Â
The win marked the program's 48
th consecutive KCAC regular-season victory.Â
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday when they play at the University of Missouri – St. Louis at 11 a.m.
